Montreal hosted the World Expo in 1967, a decade before the 1976 Summer Olympic Games. The pic below is what's left of America's, The Bubble. No, it's not THE BUBBLE, an award-winning Israeli gay film.
It's a perfect shot during sundown. And just in case you are wondering; yes, that building is inside The Bubble.
Do you know that Montreal got its name from a mountain they call, Mount Royal (Mont-Real)? Do you that in this mountain lies a volcano? This makes the city as the only city in the world that is built around a volcano. Really!
But, don't be scared. That volcano is dormant. To quote a friend cum tour guide, "It's actually an extinct volcano."
See that flat surface in the picture? That's the crater! No, it's not a skating rink or a ski slope!
Right next to it is the public skating rink!
A walk or trip uphill to Mount Royal will reward the visitor a sweeping and breathtaking panorama of the city.
The white dome you see is the Stade Olympique (Olympic Stadium). Montreal is the ONLY city in Canada that hosted the Summer Olympic Games, circa 1976.

The green bridge connects Montreal to St. Lawrence. You might not know (I didn't really until...) but Montreal is an island.
On a beautiful day last Saturday, the almost naked Santas run around the city for a cause---for theToronto Hospital for the Sick Children.
Toronto's Naked Santa Speedo Run started in 2005. The event, as they say is, "a chance to make a complete and utter spectacle of yourself."
